Outdoor Survival Camp

On-Site Camp (Age 9-14)

Join Virginia Outside for a week of educational outdoor adventure! 

Campers will spend the week learning outdoor and survival skills including:

  • Fishing
  • Shelter Building
  • Boating, Paddling, and Water Navigation Skills
  • Fire Building
  • Orienteering 
  • Campsite Preparation

Throughout the week we build on campers skills with a series of fun games and challenges.

DAILY ACTIVITIES!

  • Monday
    • Explanation of what the week will look like
    • Rules & Expectations for the week
    • Leave No Trace 
    • Wildlife & Plant ID
    • Survival Activities
  • Tuesday
    • Paddling and Fishing
    • Standard fishing from shore and from kayak
  • Wednesday
    • Orienteering & Geocaching
    • Shelter Building/ Bridge Building 
  • Thursday 
    • Campsite Selection and Skills
    • Raft Building
      • Build a raft that can support something. They get twine or paracord and have to locate everything else 

Friday Morning

  • Recap of everything learned throughout the week!
  • Small stations with favorite activities from the week!

Virginia Outside will provide all equipment throughout the week as well as most supplies. A packing list will be sent out before camp begins.

All deposits for camps and any programs or trips are non-refundable. We understand that things happen and we do make exceptions in cases of physical injury that will not allow a camper to attend camp. When working with other programs, we adhere to their refund policies. Please contact us directly if you need to withdraw from any camp, program, or trip.
