Baroody Camps

This one-week fishing camp is designed to spark the interest in fishing and teach basic fishing tactics as well as get our younger campers outdoors and having fun through a series of games and activities as well as on-the-water experience. We fish a combination of public and private ponds in the area.

Campers learn about casting, fish species, different types of tackle, and may even get their hands dirty if they choose to search for their own bait before heading to the water in search of bluegill, bass, catfish, and anything else that will bite! Camper will also take time to play, explore and cool off from the hot summer sun with daily activities such as creek exploring, kickball or other outdoor games, nature centers, popsicle breaks and more!

Safety is our number one priority, so all campers will wear life jackets when in the water. We maintain a 1-to-5 counselor-to-camper ratio to ensure every camper gets some one on one time each day to advance his or her skills.

Virginia Outside provides all rods and reels, bait and tackle, and life jackets.

Join our staff of experienced riders for a week on the trails this summer. Campers will develop beginner and intermediate mountain biking skills including: steering, shifting, hill climbing and descending, log hopping, dodging obstacles, etiquette, maintenance, safety and more. Campers will ride in the morning, have a midday lunch/activity break, then get back on the bikes in the afternoon for more trail exploration!

Campers are placed in groups of beginner, intermediate, and advanced to ensure they are riding with campers of the same ability level.

Bikes and Helmets are provided, but campers are encouraged to bring their own mountain bike. We find it very beneficial for campers to ride a bike they are already comfortable on!

Campers should know how to ride a bike before signing up for this camp.
