All skill levels
Boys & Girls Ages 7-14
This one-week fishing camp is designed to spark the interest in fishing and teach basic fishing tactics as well as get our younger campers outdoors and having fun through a series of games and activities as well as on-the-water experience. We fish a combination of public and private ponds in the area.
Campers learn about casting, fish species, different types of tackle, and may even get their hands dirty if they choose to search for their own bait before heading to the water in search of bluegill, bass, and anything else that will bite! Camper will also take time to play, explore and cool off from the hot Summer sun with daily activities such as creek exploring, other outdoor games, popsicle breaks and more!
This can also be an opportunity for Scouts to work on skills towards earning their fishing merit badge.
Safety is our number one priority, so all campers will wear life jackets when in the water. We maintain a 1-to-5 counselor-to-camper ratio to ensure every camper gets some one on one time each day to advance his or her skills.
Virginia Outside provides all rods and reels, bait and tackle, and life jackets.
