For years we’ve run our overnight fly fishing camps in far Southwest Virginia chasing everything from native brown trout and trophy rainbows on tight mountain streams to smallmouth bass on larger rivers. This summer we’re excited to offer a girls only Southwest Virginia fly fishing experience.
We’ll be staying at Riverbound X-Stream’s Big Cedar Lodge on the banks of Big Cedar Creek, stocked with some of the largest trout in the southeast directly out the front door. The fully furnished lodge will be our base camp for the week as we explore public water such as the famed South Holston tailwater in Tennessee as well as Riverbound’s private streams. In addition to wading trout streams we’ll also float the North Fork of the Holston River, a tremendous smallmouth fishery.
All skill and ability levels are welcome as beginners will learn the basics of fly fishing- from casting to tying knots- and more experienced anglers will hone existing skills. The trip will be led by Catherine Emery and guided by our experienced staff.
